So, I thought I would get on here and chat a bit.
I have started attending Bug's Night Out in Rocklin, CA sponsored by local Cricut Designers Monique Griffith and Wendy Lawrence. Am starting to meet some local scrappers and make friends. It has been awesome. I have met Kathy and Elaina (name/spelling?) and just last week I met Rita. Next Friday is a Cricut Circle Meet-up, and then 2 weeks after that another Bug's Night out.
Have been spending most of my free time getting our garden going for the summer. We increased it by about 60 %. We have corn; green and soy beans;iceberg and romaine lettuce, white and green cauliflower; broccoli; lemon and pickling cucumbers; brussel spouts; Anaheim, Italian long and inferno peppers; green, yellow and red bell peppers; Roma, Brandywine, Green Heirloom, Yellow, mortgage lifter, Pineapple and Sun Sugar tomatoes; orange and red carrots; beets; garlic; okra; yellow, red and walla walla onions; tomatillos; and plan on putting in potatoes.
Now, my husband doesn't think I will have any luck with the potatoes, but we shall see. Everything I have read on it says they are super EASY to grow. And considering how often the potatoes in my bin grow "eyes", I think it will work fine. Actually, hopefully I get to prove him wrong!
Anyway, my kids are both in college or about to be in college, my grandson is getting more adorable by the day (I got to babysit him for the first time last weekend! And we had a BLAST!), work seems to get busier and I seem to have fewer hours in a day.
Love to all and I will try to be more consistent!

Good Friday Morning!
Tomorrow, i will get to see one of my best friends, whom I haven't seen to almost TWO years, when she up and moved away to Nevada and then Alabama! Hubby and I are driving to Fallon NV (can you say 'in the middle of nowhere' LOL) to see her, as she is out visiting her daughter. Can't wait. Plus, it will be nice to take a little road trip with hubby!

HE IS HERE!

The grandson is finally here! Colten Curtis Janway finally arrived after 20 hours of labor and 3 days early, on November 10, 2009 at 8:10 pm. 7 pounds 11 ounces and20.5 inches long! I have gotten to see him three times. Mom is doing good and Dad is happy but tired. he is already sleeping for about 3 hours at a stretch, but he pretty much eats whenever he is awake, sometimes nursing for up to an hour! He's a little piggy! The really amazing part about this is that Van (my hubby and the Grandpa) who wasn't super thrilled about the baby, was checking out the baby clothes when we went to sportmans warehouse on Friday! Now on to scrapping the baby!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
So, today is my birthday! Yesterday was supposed to be my "family day" birthday, the day where my family does stuff for me and I get the whole day of?!??!?! NOT happening! TWO fights with my youngest daughter, ONE fight with my oldest daughter, and a husband who got crabby cause the daughters wouldn't help cook dinner. UUUUUGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
BUT, hubby did get me a VERY sweet singing card. The outside has two sets of feet peeking out from under a sheet, obviously a man's feet and a woman's feet. On the outside it says, "In the morning, at night, and in themiddle of the afternoon", on the inside it says "you make my dreams come true" and it plays the song "You Make My Dreams Come True." He even signed it with 3 hearts (which he NEVER does. He also got me a bag of my favorite candy: Hershey's Kisses with Almonds. He abd I will go out later and probably get me something together, but with the economy so bad, and the budget so tight, I just wanted to wait anyway. Maybe it'll be new clothes when I drop a few sizes!
Anyway, just had to bitch! THanks for listening! My coworker/assistant made me a beautiful beaded necklace.

New Art Poject
I saw in a magazine a long time ago a piece of art that I thought was really cool. It was a group of tags that were embellished and collaged with scrapbooking supplies, then arranged on a mat and framed to hang on the wall.I thought this was a cool idea, so I decided to do one for my office at work.
Here are the pictures:
This is the completed piece.

I also have a boy baby book to make for my neice who is due in May. The thing I love about making baby books, is there are no pictures, so the layours are EASY-PEASY to make! Here are the pages I have done so far.

It's Friday! I'm tired and other stuff
Well, I am so glad it's Friday! I am so tired! My youngest had her last basketball game of the season (YEA!), but the bus didn't get to the school until 10:30, so we didn't get home until 11 pm, then up at 4 am to see hubby off to work. UUUGGGHHH!!! I told her that if she wants to do sports next year, she needs to either find a ride, or get her license.
On the note of my youngest daughter: She is a sophmore in highschool, and in the last 3-5 days has received no fewer than 17 letters from colleges trying to recruit her, including the engineerng college my older brother went to, Rennselear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and one down in Louisianna, some obscure college called Tulane. I'm "sure" that it is just some randome school (Heavy sarcasm here). She was so excited, because a lot of the colleges she hadn't heard of (though I had), but she has heard of Tulane. I think it is scaring her just a little bit how many colleges are contacting her. Her sister didn't start getting letters until mid to late in her junior year. But, she thinks it is good, since she has NO IDEA what she wants to do, or where she wants to go, other than it needs to be near the ocean, cause she LOVES the ocean. So, the process begins! Wish me luck, as this is my last one who's going off to college! Boy, a couple more years, and we'll be empty-nesters! WOOO HOOOOO!

Then the blue and purple papers drawers
and the other non-color sorted embellishments, like people, clothes, vintage, sports, vehicals, animals, nature.....
Top drawer is page protectors, then the next two drawers are pages that need to find thier way into an album.
Then we have embellishments sorted by color

It's Friday (almost)
Well, it's the eve of my foud-day weekend. I'm a little bummed cuz Caity Sue won't be over til Sunday, but then she can see Cori, and Van (dear hubby).
I plan on spending tomorrow doing some last minute pick-up in the house, some laundry, though I may save that until Monday when my dear daughter will be here, since an awful lot of it is hers! I swear, I can do 3 loads a week for me and hubby, and that includes his work clothes that are washed seperately from the main stuff, but she will have two-three loads just by herself, and she is a skinny little thing!
After that, it's into my scrap room to make a mess an dbe creative. hopefully, it will be easier to clean up. I already love having the wall of supplies behind me. All I have to do is turn around in my chair and i can reach almost everything! And it seems to make it easier to put away also.
I finally got the 10" of new paper put away. I can see that I am going to have to weed out some of my paper, especially the patterned paper! I still have the basket of embellishments and stuff to put away, but I don't think that will take me very long.
Saturday, I hope to spend some time sewing my oldest daughter's prom dress, and spending a little time with hubby!
Talk to ya'all later!
